Last saturday, I really wanted to be on time for the Filipino Book bloggers 1st Meet Up but luck was not on my side. Halfway there while riding my motorbike, it rained hard and I could feel the water dripping at my back while I was driving along Shaw Blvd. I arrived at Shangri-La around 5:00pm when I should have been there 2 hours earlier. I entered Shangri-La with a wet shirt and shoes (I look like a character from a horror flick that came out from a river or something), I knew that I have to make my self a little bit presentable (I bought a shirt and sandals) before heading to Starbucks.
Although most of the guests and some of the group members are gone when I arrived, all of my GR-TFG (goodreads – The Filipino Group) friends are there. After some catchin up as to what happened up to the time I arrived, the usual fun stuff begins. While eating at Sango, the non-stop talking and recommendations of books started, barrowing books from one another, and also the developments or in my case shortcomings (the RSS) of each others blogs.
After our tummy has been filled we decided to hit the bookstores. First stop, Powerbooks. Almost purchased “House of M” by Brian Michael Bendis but its too pricey, I still have to save money for that.
We headed next to National Bookstore where Tina and Aaron recommended Flipped. Outside Shangri-La mall, we walked to the hotel where Fully-booked is located. There I got my Runaways Vol. 3: The Good Die Young.
The rain versus books, I guess I could say that it is still a fun day spent with my GR friends and some new ones (Michelle & Honeylein) and we didn’t even noticed that it is already 9:30pm. We departed ways with smiles on our faces. So I guess what they say was true, better late than never.

hahahaha, nah. It’s just that I can’t go to the meet up with a wet shirt and shoes. If you’re in my shoe, WWJD (What Would Jason Do)?

*cue Hallelujah chorus on your learning about Google Reader and RSS feeds*
First Twitter, now Google Reader! (Rhyme!) You will be a techie just yet. Haha.
I’m really glad you still made it. I hope you enjoy reading Flipped; that’s one of my all-time favorite novels. And let’s not forget Happyface too.
